IDEALISM
My intention with my series book was to practice basic Photoshop editing tools before focusing more energy into my sequence photobook. Although the painting tool was what I primarily used for this book, secondhand techniques such as flipping, liquifying, and lassoing became essential for some of these edits. Using blending layers for the last page was a monumental discovery that I had used oh so much in my sequence photobook.
I titled my series book, "Idealism", because I wanted to loosely expand on the notion of institutionalized photos and how the idea of insecurities and the need to look presentable come into play. These edits present to the viewer what ideals in appearance may look like: masculinity, femininity, symmetry, cosmetic, normalcy, doll-like, transient, exaggerated and abundant--all for the ideal face, whatever that may be.
